My wife will join the B.C. health care plan.  While she is out of Canada, does the plan offer any coverage?

WHere can I research the coverage in greater depth, please?

Interview April 4, 2011 (so slow!!). Passed.
15 April 2011 New medical done.
7 July 2011  COPR received.

I looked at the site.  They don't say much about what is covered abroad, except to advise that one get travel insurance, even if out of coutnry for only a day.  That suggests the coverage is minimal.

The site says very little about coverage while one is abroad, and advises travel insurance, which seems to suggest that the coverage is minimal.

I have never heard one can apply for coverage from abroad. have you tried to phone them? the best answer you can get only from them themselves.

As far as I know, there is no international coverage at all. You have to get private insurance.
