Course Fee for International Students Vs Immigrants through Federal Program

Hi Guys -

I am planning to be in Canda in the next year or so. After going through forums, I have observed that having a Canadian degree would put up some weight on my resume. Therefore, I am evaluating options for the means to enter Canada. Now, I have also seen a lot of difference in the course fee for International Students & Immigrants. For one of the course I checked out, fee for Int'l students was around $4K per term vs $2k per term for Immigrant's. Can someone throw some light on this and suggest what is the best possible way for me enter Canada...to enter in as a student or an immigrant.

FYI - I already have an MBA in marketing and I have 2yrs of work exp as an online advertising/marketing personnel.

You have to be a permanent resident of Canada to qualify for the lower immigrant fees. The processing time for permanent resident applications can be anywhere from several months to many years. It takes a long time to put an application together (in addition to filling out forms, you must provide a great deal of supporting documentation). Also, not everyone is eligible to apply - you have to meet the application criteria.

Entering as a student will be much easier and the application process is extremely short - but you will have to pay higher tuition fees. Entering as an immigrant will be much more difficult and take much more time - but you will pay lower tuition fees.

Thanks for the reply guys. But, to get an admission into reputed courses n schools will take a lot of studyin again....which is kinda tough as of now because I am done with it 2Yrs back and if I try to sneak in with a course just for the sake of it...I would risk my chances of getting a Visa. So, I am thinking of playing the waiting game by entering through immigration program and enroll into course after assessing the situation in there....Please advice..
