Hello

having no health insurance for Canada I wonder how much the medical checks would cost me when I do it there as a visitor ?
In Europe I have normal national health cover, but still the doctors listed are private, so anyone has some numbers from experience ?

Thx,

Pummelchen

It depends where in Canada you are, the price varies. Also I think you have to pay wherever to are in the world. I got everything done in Toronto for $200, some cost less, others much more. Phone around a few to get some prices.

Wow thats much better than what my cousin paid in Edmonton, $400, and this was the cheapest he could find from the designated clinics.

I paid over 400$ for the doctor, the blood test and the X-rays in Fort McMurray. If you are in Germany, find out first how much would be to get it done right there. It would have been cheaper for me in Hungary, but I haven`t been back for 4 years.

even if u do the medicals in Europe, ur health insurance won't cover it....u can do the medicals all over the world, as long as they will send it to the right visa office (the one u mention in the forms)...not all private doctors do it, just the DMPs listed on the Immigration website...the ones i called in our area have very close price range (approx 230 CAD); for the ones in Germany, u could call and ask them directly: the price, waiting time, etc (in some places u could wait up to 3 months for an appointment)

my health insurance didn´t pay anything, i have the BKK. I had to pay about 250€ for check - x-rays here in Bavaria, i bet it costs allover in Germany the same.

if you need more help please ask. i was in the almost same situation, my husband (canadian) and i (german) live here in Germany and we will go to Edmonton in August.
Thanks god i brought the hazzel with the immigration thing behind me, i just need to land. hopefully it will be as smooth as the process.

We are paying 250 EUR for the exam in Stuttgart, and my partner (who is German) has insurence, but since it is an immigration thing, you still have to pay.
