Hi everyone,

I just have a quick question. I received my PR card about a month ago. I am wondering--am I supposed to keep the COPR in my passport or can I remove it and keep it somewhere safe? I am about to take a trip out of Canada so I want to make sure I have everything I need. Please let me know!

Keep it somewhere safe, you will need it for citizenship application.

Thanks PMM. Yes, I will keep it somewhere safe. What I need to know right now is if I need to carry it with me when I travel. I am going on vacation and need to know if I need to keep the COPR attached to my passport or if I can take it out and just use the PR Card. Any information would be appreciated.

If you look at your COPR you will see that is only valid for 1 entry, you have your PR card that is now proof of your PR status, remove the COPR.
