I wanted to ask someone what the difference between a normal off-campus work permit and the co-op work permit is.

I understand the latter is only eligible to apply for when I'm enrolled in a co-op program, but does that restrict me to work during the semesters where I'm not doing co-op? In the sense, if I have done four semesters, and one of them is co-op, can I still work part-time under this work permit for the three semesters where I didn't do co-op?

Any clarity will be appreciated.

Hi there,

I have the same question in regards to the co-op. A friend of mine got a one year work permit together with her study permit for a co0op program. Her study portion is 6 months so we are wondering if she can only work the other six months or she can work for the whole year.

I would really appreciate any insight.

Thank you!
