Hey folks,

Does anyone know whether co-op terms are considered as part of studies or not?

Eg. if I take a program (4 months) plus a co-op term (4 months) can I apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit
("..must have completed a program of study that lasted at least eight months..")?

Thanks a million.

cheers.

Hi

"If the institution considers a student to have "full-time" status during the "work experience" portion of the
program and the student continues to comply with the institution's co-op rules, the student will be eligible
for the OCWPP and the work experience portion of the program can be included in the calculation of the
six-month period of full-time studies."

You should be eligible for an 8 month PGWP if the course/school meets the following

The student must have studied full-time at a Canadian university, community college, CEGEP,
publicly funded trade/technical school, or at a private institution authorized by provincial/territorial
statute to confer degrees (but only if the applicant received the credential in a program of study leading
to a degree as authorized by the province and not in all programs of study offered by the private
institution).
