Hi,

I've heard that we can get admin papers (PR card, SIN card, ...) faster if we can give an address in Canada no matter what our friends or relatives' houses to the immigration officer at the airport right away after landing because it takes a longer time to process those papers in case that we inform him/her later when we can rent a house of which we will chose as our contact address in Canada.

My question is if the above info is correct.  If yes, friend/relative address will be considered as our contact address vis-à-vis the immigration office even if we won't physically stay there.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Thanks tiarachel85 for your quick reply.

And what about Medical Insurance? Can we get it at that address in case that we won't stay there?

Some mems on this forum suggest to pay for subscription of medical insurance for first 3 months just after landing. Can we get Medical Insurance from Immigration Office in 3-month time?

Many thanks,

Some people told me that each state in Canada has different law.  So, I suppose we are covered by Medical Insurance only in the state who issued it otherwise we are covered by Canadian Medical Insurance  over the world, it means different states of Canada or outside Canada, isn't it?

Yes, different states has separate health card. So you need to give address in the same province/state atleast where u want to live.

For first 3 months you have to do your insurance from your home country
