Hi,

We have a problem with the work history! My boyfriend worked for 12 years in one of the leading Health Insurance Companies in Germany. After 8 years they merged, the new stronger company took over and added something to the name. After another year another company came, merged and changed the name slightly.
He is still sitting in the same building and the same office. But the colleagues and bosses all left over time, except one who has been in his Team for 12 years now.

The problem is although he has all the Contracts and they say the dates etc.
each of them only say very generally: Team Leader for.... but the Job title on the NOC list: Claims Examiner doesnt exist like this in Germany. But he read the description and this is what he has been doing. Also the contracts dont contain job descriptions generally. As I said all the people and bosses have gone except one colleague. Would it be possible that he writes a job description on companies header for each and she signs and confirms that this is what he was doing. 9 of those years he was her Team Leader!
Thanks!

So far the job descriptn in NOC matches what he has been doing, he should go ahead and apply. I recomend that the HR departmt should write a letter of attestation to support the cause

Hi,

You mean the new HR Department (miles away in Munich) should write a letter explaining that the company merged 3 times and so we dont have any job descriptions and so on...? He is worried they find out abt his immigration plans and tell his boss.
What do you mean by "the job description matches what he has been doing"? The problem is that his jobs are called: Team Leader in Hospital Area, Team Leader in Patient Care. So it doesnt say: "Claims Examiner" and we have all the contracts but not the job descriptions. Its crazy but these German contracts dont contain these!! Sad

The title of the job does not matter! What matters is the job description. It does not also matter where th HR is located, your boyfriend still needs an attestation letter to support your job descriptn. The VO may even call the HR to verify

Thanks. But the new HR Department has been in place for 1 year and know nothing about the other 2 companies who were in place before. So they cant testify his job description! Only what he did the last 1 year since they came.

Does it mean the HR does not maintain file records of their personnel? The infomation is gotten from your boyfri
end's file in HR. It does not matter how many times the company was sold. The HR file is part of the assets of the new owners. So let your boyfriend request for the attestation and you will be suprised that they would be able to provide those details. Bye

We will try but he is not sure wether it got lost or has been not taken on, there was lots of confusion in the company. Even if we get the file, it might not contain the job descriptions but all the contracts which we already have.

Yes, thanks for your help! Smiley He will do (try) on monday. We are not sure if we are able to request copies of his prfile under german law. Also, I hoped that there might be a second option if it doesnt work. We thought of his colleague to confirm his job-description as he just been her Team Leader for 9 years, she could sign and seal!?

hey,

yes is worth trying.  According to my understanding working for the same company for long time does not matter as far as he has applied according to his work experience and documents under which NOC he is applying for.
Also provide as much as evidence of work responsibilities and job title of as many contract you have. It should workout.

all the best.

good luck

Dear Avan,

I too have a similar case. I got an intra company transfer 3 times and one of the companies i worked with got a name change. Secondly the company i currently worked with demerged with the parent company and merged with another company. I too don't have job descriptions on my contract and appraisal letters.

What I did was wrote all my duties on an affidavit and explained a bit of the company transfers, etc. I had 4 bosses during this time of which 3 are in the same position so I got their visiting cards so that they can be called for verification.

You can do a similar thing. I guess even if you can prove similar job duties for only 1 year that will be sufficient. So write down the job duties, explain situation of your company's merger, provide contact details of the boss and HR.I guess the current boss always has an idea of what the subordinate's earlier work experience.

Best of Luck!!!

Thanks. You still had those 4 bosses there. Problem is that only the current one is there, the last merge happened 1 year ago and so he came. The other 2 have left the company during the merges. So we cant even get the business cards  Sad
- no business cards (except for the current but my boyfriend doesnt want to tell him abt the plans for Canada)
- no Job descriptions
- just all the contract and general Job titles (Team Leader) in there...
- I mean the company is obviously Health Insurance but the NOC says CLAIMS EXAMINER

I have been really worried all night that it doesnt work out now! As it was already so hard for him to do the IELTS and the rest
