Common-law sponsorship - questions
«

Hi,
My boyfriend and I have been living together for 2 years and he wants to sponsor me as a common-law partner. I have a few questions...
During our relationship we've had periods of traveling together of several months (up to 5); we have proof that we were together during these times (plane tickets, receipts, photos etc) but I'm wondering, is it going to be an issue because we didn't have an apartment/house at the time?
We're also wondering if after we apply, we're allowed to live in different places or if we have to keep living together. I'm not sure I can get another work permit and I'm considering getting a job abroad. Will that affect the application? Or do we have to keep living together, knowing that I won't be able to work?
Thanks for your time

Another question regarding proof... This is all we have:
6 month lease + utility bills for one place (when we first moved in together)
6 month work contracts + letter from employer certifying that we were living together (we both worked for the same company where accomodation was provided so no lease or bills)
Documents proving that we traveled together (3 month trip before we moved in together, 5 months trip up to now)
Letters addressed to both of us at the same address; emails, photos.
We do not have a joint bank account and have never bought any household etc together.
Will that be enough?

The two 6-month periods where you have proof of living together are absolutely crucial, since you need 12 months together.
Try to open a joint bank account as soon as possible.
What you have might be enough - it partly depends on where you are from and if there are any 'red flags' in your relationship.
