Hi
Me and my common law partner are not far away from sending in our application for me to sponsor him. About how long does it take
for them to give you an answer whether it is a good one or a bad one like not accepting it.

Depends on whether you are applying inland or outland.

And if applying outland, which visa office.

Then you're looking at 10-11 months for stage 1. And anywhere from a few weeks to many months for stage 2. See the following page for processing time lines:
