Hi all,

I want to do a psychology/counselling course next year in Vancouver and apply for a study permit for Canada. It would be greatly appreicated if someone could answer a few of my questions:

1. Is there a list of official colleges that the govt accepts or can you make a case to get a study permit for any college? (One of the courses I would like to do is from a small college).

2. Would the Canadan govt give a student loan to a foreign national?

3. Can I get a work permit also if I am granted a study permit?

Many thanks,

D

1.  No there is no official list.
2.  No, you wouldn't be eligible for a loan.
3.  You could get an on campus work permit, but would not be eligible for an off campus work permit until 6 months of school and you were attending one of the schools in lists for the various provinces to be eligible.
