Dear seniors,

I was told by a friend of mine in Canada that the PR card MUST be collected in person by the individuals.
Is it true ? In this forum, I saw the posts that the PR card can be delivered at the canadian address and my relatives can collect the same and mail them to me.

Can you tell me which statement is correct ?
Also, has anyone faced such issue where the PR card is not delivered to the address and the individual is asked to collect it personally ?
What will happen if I am not in Canada for this ?

Please let me know.

Regards,
Sharat Joshi

Initial PR cards are sent by regular mail.  Any replacement subsequently are collected in person.  In either cases, if you are not in Canada, you need to go to the nearest Canadian consulate to apply a travel document for re-entry Canada.
