As if the last couple weeks couldn't get any worse (FBI Record Request delays, Medical Exam unsure if sent, application delay of sending to Feb possible March etc.) my husband sends the forms signed back to me with coffee stains (or the appearance of) on the bottom right hand of all the forms and sponsor documents!  Shocked

The stains are on the larger side... more than just the corner... but still legible.

Does anyone have any experience with this? The forms are still legible... just not very well presented. It would be a HUGE problem for us having to do all of them over again, but if you feel this is a big problem then we will!

How did the coffee stains reach the forms? who did it? and why do you think the forms are still legible?

If the forms are still legible there's no formal problem. I'm sure if you feel like you want to explain the situation you could do that though.

boooo that sucks. if you can wait it out and get hubby to send back the forms to you without the stains on it then do it... If you dont want to wait... im sure it will not be a make or break it issue... ONLY if you can still read everything clearly. I would be suprised if they sent it back saying.. stain on paper re-do... but then again imm does do some rarther questionable things!

If there is no signature on the page is it possible to re-do those pages?

If it was me... id send it.... its just a coffee stain geez !

Good Luck... try not to stress too much!

Thank you all very much for your advice! I have no idea how the coffee stains (if they even are coffee stains) got there. My husband says he didn't realize they were there, haha, and the envelope appears undamaged... so I'd guess just a stroke of last minute bad luck! The forms are definitely still legible, not over any signatures. It just doesn't look like forms I'd want to send to the government... but ah well!

Swede - I will add a note probably apologizing. kc - I will probably reprint the non signature pages!

Thank you again for your advice.

Nyssa,
I won't tell you to RELAX because that never helps! I'm no expert here (far from it, in fact) but judging by
many of your previous posts, you are an incredibly organized person (which goes far in this mess of the sorting
paperwork process) and in addition to that, have a lot of evidence to support your relationship with your husband.
The fact that there is a spill/stain on the paperwork (and that everything is still legible) is a minimal detail in comparison
to what the officer will be focused on - *just my opinion*.

My husband requested 3 copies of the application forms for back-up and back-up-back-up in case we screwed up, which
is good because I am used to writing dates as Month/Day/Year and screwed up on the forms at first. Since you're waiting
on your FBI record before sending everything, and you're truly worried, I suppose you can get another copy and just re-write
everything, but then you have to send, then have everything sent back to you, etc. I don't find it worth the hassle.

Keep everything as nicely organized and complete as you planned and things should go well.
Best wishes whatever you decide. Spills happen.

If anyone here has experience, please help Nyssa out, because my answer is only a matter of opinion.

being a German, I would redo it.
I am sure it won't be a deciding factor but the way an application looks like and is presented is the first impression the officer gets. And I would want it to look nice and tidy.
But as I said, that could be just a German thing. Canadians might see it differently.

well if i were you nyssa iŽll redo them.. i know is a long and not nice work .. but i wouldnŽt  give canada migration a small reason like that to deny my application .. after all after you sent it you need to wait around 30 to 42 days to wait if they returned it to you or passed... and i believe time is gold... also i think it will give you some mind peace and you are not going to be worried about the stains

i think you still have time to wait for it cause you are waiting for the rest of your papers...

and like mrsmissingmr is just my opinion

Personally, I would redo them as well. I'm sure everything would be fine with them as they are, coffee and all, but this could be just one more thing for you to worry about once you send them off. I'd redo them if for nothing else than for peace of mind.

I'd re-do the forms as well -- especially if you can re-do them at your end (i.e. no signatures). You only get one chance to make a first impression, and why leave anything to chance after so much effort to date?

I, too, took a lot of care with the presentation; not so my Chinese wife. So, the neatness gene is not cultural; it'w individual.

Awww, Nyssa. Sad So sorry to hear of more stressful things. I'm super organized as well and if I were you I'd redo the forms just to keep my mind at ease. I still don't have my FBI request either and have read that it expires after 3 months. If that's the case then I have to make another request for one since I sent the request in October and supposedly it has a November 5 processing date! My police certificates are expired (3 months old) as of a couple of weeks ago. I feel like I"m starting all over again. Sad

Wow, all of your guys' support is beyond amazing. Thank you so much! I agree about re-doing the forms... we are going to redo all the ones without his signature. The ones with his signature we are going to keep (but also attach a note at the beginning apologizing for the state of said forms). Luckilly when it comes to first impression... we have a few lb box-sized package neatly tabbed color-coded 9-10 folder application. Hopefully they'll pay more attention to its entire structure rather than the contents of just one folder!! One can only hope... again, many many thanks.

Nej - Ohhh I am so, so sorry. October?? Boy, you and I definitely don't have it easy with the FBI portion of this process. Again I tried calling (every week I do) "it's still going to be a few more weeks". It's already been 8-9 for me. They recieved it on November 30. I don't think that's its processing date though, just date it was recieved, correct? I too am going to mail another one... just incase maybe they lost it since recieving it or something. I'll pray for you Nej.
