Clueless about the application status

I was in canada for an year and had submitted documents for PR under skilled worker category along with DD from canadian bank.
Its been almost an year I havent yet received any mail / email / updates from canadian counsulate buffalo. As i do not have file number I am not able to track it.
Now that i have returned to india it has become impossible for me to find out where my file is currently with what status ?
Bank guys say that they will not be able to confirm encashment of DD for "whatever" reasons

Any idea what can be done in this case ? Any mail / phone number where things can be tracked ? Is it advisable to contact an agent now ?

What was the address of communication provided on form, did you change it after you moved to India?

My guess is that you may have missed communication from Buffalo.
