good day to all,
iam an applicant for permanent resident under federal class (skilled worker) for about 2 years now, my papers are under process from manila.... now i have an employer from canada thru an employment agency here in manila, he told me that i will have my working visa in about 2 months, and he told me that my visa will be a family status, meaning i can get my family after sometime..... my question is will this affect my federal application? what would happen to my application, and should i pursue the working visa in order to get to canada at once, my file number has been mine for only 2 years, so i have to wait at least 2 or 3 more years to get an embassy response and my patience is fading due to economical reasons....
thanks for any suggetstion and reply, good luck to all of us
markus
1. You can go ahead and put in your application for a temporary work permit; however, depending on your job type, your employer might have to file an LMO (Labor Market Opinion) with HRSDC (Human Resources and Social Development Canada).
2. No, this will not affect your Federal Skilled Worker Application. In fact, you don't need to withdraw your Skilled Worker Application. It might be in your best interest to continue with the process of Skilled Worker Immigration. It may take a while but it is not an infinite process – it does come to an end at some point in time.
3. You can have two applications with CIC, as long as they are for separate Visa types. The one will not affect the other; you just have to satisfy the requirements that will enable you to obtain the visas.
4. After you have been successful with the work permit process, and you are actually and physically in Canada working at your new job, then you can inform CIC about your address change so that CIC will be able to reach you with regard to your Skilled Worker Application.
5. Make sure there is someone reliable in Manila that will be able to forward any mail to you when you are successfully in Canada working, just in case CIC sent you important information about your other application while you were on the move to Canada to work.
6. A work permit for you does not grant automatic temporary resident visas (TRVs) for members of your family. Each member of your family MUST meet the requirements in obtaining individual TRVs. See the following CIC link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/work/work-faq06.asp7. The TRVs for your family members will also depend on the yearly income that you'll earn at your job in Canada and can include any income-producing asset that you may have in Manila. Here is a link on TRVs, follow the other links too for more information:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.aspYour family can always join you hassle-free in Canada when the Skilled Worker Application becomes successful.
