I guess I have one more question..In your timeline it shows you sent your Passport on the 25th Jan 2010. That means it has taken like 2 months to get your visa..That's after sending your pp? right?

Hi again,

The profile shows when the passport was requested, not sent.  So my PPR is Jan 25th, and I sent the passport along with the other documents on February 15th.

Between February 15th and March 4th I just waited without any further communication from the visa office.

On March 3rd the PR visa was issued (date on the stamp) and I got my passport back on March 4th.  That means that the visa issuance itself took less than 1 month!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

As an old category applicant am happy to learn that your case has been decided. Congratulation for having the patience of waiting that long!!

I applied in 2007,via seoul south korea. I now awaiting a decision to be made on my case after having submitted my passport/RPRF/Medicals 3 months ago. It's taking long right?

By the way, allow me to ask you some questions:

(a) Did you get official confirmation at some stage that you achieved or surpassed the 67 points? If yes,how was the communication like? By way of regular mail or email?

(b)How did your employment background go? Did the CIC make visits or phone calls to your work station?

Thanks,Shakira and Good Luck with the remaining stages!!

Could you tell me if you already done your interview?
Do they always ask for medical check before interview?
I also received The medical instructions; But I am not done my interview yet

Hi all,

I received the medical & passport request from my visa office (CIC Tokyo).

But I have these questions:

1) The medical instructions say that the results of the examinations should be sent to Manila.  Is this correct?
I mean, my visa office is Tokyo, so why send the medicals to Manila Philippines and not to Japan?

2) Did someone else applying from Japan get the medical request?  Where did you have them sent to?

3) Btw, I heard that depending on the category (SW, Family class, etc) and where you've applied to, your visa office and place to send the medicals might be different.  Is this true?

Thanks for reading, and will look forward to getting answers.

Hi jazz2,

It's a long process isn't it?  But it's just a question of being patient; Canada is welcoming many people this year too.

Please see my answers below.

(a) Did you get official confirmation at some stage that you achieved or surpassed the 67 points? If yes,how was the communication like? By way of regular mail or email?

(b)How did your employment background go? Did the CIC make visits or phone calls to your work station?

(a) No, I only got an Acknowledgment of Receipt when I first applied in 2005, through a letter that came by regular mail, without any reference to the points.  After transfering my case to Tokyo I received a letter saying that they got the file, but there was no mention of the points either.  By the way, the old system required 75 points, I think, and I had 80.

(b) I never heard from my employer about calls or other types of communications from the Consulate.  I'm almost sure they didn't call.  I understand that those checks are done randomly.

Best wishes and keep your faith!

Hi zhian,

As my profile says, I was waived from the interview

Perhaps if you got the medicals you'll be waived too, but cannot say for sure.

Good luck with the rest of the process!
