Yep, we got his visa the same day!!! Actually, I'm the Canadian citizen and he's my husband. Neither of us is Chinese, but I've got a one year contract teaching English here and he's a dependent on my visa. The interview was not too bad, they just asked him some questions with me out of the room, then asked me questions with him out of the room to confirm. They were saying we'd need to get a criminal record check done in China, until I notified them that we officially have been living here less than 6 months (9 days less) so they agreed to waive that requirement and just give us the visa. HAPPY!!!!!!!  HOLDDD ON! You are a canadian citizen who took your husband to beijing as your dependent and you were able to sponsor him based on that ? he doesnt have to have his own independent one year visa?! I hope someone can answer this question.....because im in the exact same situation! |

My wife called me today April 6th 2012 at 4:29 am and told me she just received her passport with visa and COPR from VO Beijing
I thank God for this great moment !
i am Actually trying to book a flight for her to finally be here next week

The visa was stamped in her passport on March 6th , VO sent passport on March 15th by EMS , it reached my wife's University on March 16th , the office man at the university signed and collected .It's only on April 6th that he wrote on the university board that my wife has a courrier .
Can you imagine that? he took u another 3 weeks and made us stress for nothing , we worried a lot but in fact CIC did work super quick and good ,only the nasty man caused us trouble .
Anyway we are relieved and my wife will land here on APril 13th
To God be the glory!

I have a quick question, I hope that someone can help me with this...
If my husband and I move to China (neither of us are from China)
And I come on a one year Z visa and he comes as my dependent
Can I apply for his immigration through this visa?
Or does he have to have a one year visa issued directly to him??
If anyone knows the answer please let me know as soon as you can! Itll really help us out, Thanks so much!

Hi guys, I posted this on a couple of threads but didn't get answer yet...maybe they were for another county or something? Anyway glad I see we have a thread for China only.
My case is to sponsor my parents.
sponsorship submitted Sept. 2008
sponsorship approved Sept. 2010
parents application to embassy in Beijing reveived Dec. 13, 2010
confirmation letter of above application issued Feb. 18, 2011
"start to process the application on Feb. 14, 2012" status "In Process"
now waiting...
Anyone knows how long this "In Process" status would last in Beijing, China?

Hello everyone,
I got a good news from from e-cas today. I guess CIC updated my e-cas last week on Thursday or Friday, because last Wednesday, nothing had changed; it was "in process". Now, under the applicant, I have "decision made". On March 22, 2012, Beijing Visa Office requested the passport of my wife, and they received it on March 26. So far, my wife has not received her passport back yet. I assume she got the Visa to finally land in Canada and be with me. So far, I have never read on this forum that someone knew about "decision made" before to actually receive something. Is someone know how long my wife will wait for her passport from Beijing ? Should I write a case inquiry to Beijing VO to know what is going on ?
