@ Greeneyebunny thank you and I hope you will have some news soon. In our case, the process was slow due to the CSQ not being discovered until I contacted the VO. I guess if you're not applying with Quebec, your process will be quick.

Got an AOR e-mail from Beijing on the 19th. Contacted them through their website to change our phone number and ask if they had our file the week before. Last night they added our mailing address to my husbands e-cas. Not exactly sure why they did that or what it means, but I'll take it as a good sign.

Why does Beijing ask for the passport so soon? Why not wait (as Hong Kong did in my wife's case) until a decision has been made before asking for the passport?
Holding on to a passport can be very inconvenient for the applicant.

Nov 09 Approved; sent to Hong Kong.
Interview April 4, 2011 (so slow!!). Passed.
15 April 2011 New medical done.
7 July 2011 COPR received.
15 July 2011 landed in Vancouver. At last.

Maybe its because beijing normally gets everything done much more quickly that HK, so if they ask for the passport at the beginning they have it when they're ready to issue the visa and less time is spent waiting.

2011.6.28 CIC-M Application received，8.23 Sp Decision Made, 9.7 App received Beijing ,9.28 IP, 10.1 Decision made
now I wonder how many days I will get my visa in my hand?anyone knows?

Well,so your Category is FAM and you're waiting your PP with visa.right? What is AR email,it is meaned PPR email? Your e-cas shown "decision made" is meaned approval of sponsor,not for beijing VO's decision because it was showed before PPR.(1/Oct) But now you're already received PPR and sent PP, Have you finished payment and medical check? If yes, as much as I known, You will receive back yours very soon! |

Thanks fast, yes category is family class. seems totaly took 3 months to finish the assesment.hope I will get visa soon.
