Do children born (to one Canadian parent) outside Canada get a passport from Canada after birth?
Are they consider a citizen even if they are not living in Canada?
I was born after 1978 (in 1980 actually) in Canada...and it seems like the answer is yes according the CIC website but I just want to confirm. Please do not just say "read the website", I did that, now I want to confirm with someone who has seen or been in this situation before.
Thank-you for your assistance.

As long as you weren't the child of a diplomat, then you are a citizen and any children you have are Canadians.  You have to apply for a citizenship certificate and a Canadian passport.
