The lady is just a call center agent- not technically a CIC employee..but continue to dream... Tongue

Hey Kman

Although my case is straight forward as many of us have here but you never know whats gonna happen. we can only hope inshallah it will go smooth in less time. I have shown all proofs of Nikah, rukhsati and Valima with medical sent already. the lady did tell me and I quote "If needed we will send it to ISB" but again this is a call center, I am sure if I call in today which I will, I might get some other answer. the only thing which I know for sure is that by dividing cases in to multiple Visa offices will definitely reduce the timeline for both ISB and Ottawa and we have seen that Mashallah people are getting response in less time then the cases in 2010. One of my friends case is just completed in 11 months  from ISB though it was 22 months when he applied. Inshallah its gonna get better this year.

Thanks!

did you track down your application and confirm it was delivered? I have a similar timelime as you- and I got approved three weeks ago. Did you forget to sign any sheet or not include your option c?

I am going to cry now, I have not heard ANYTHING!!!

Naqibee, I saw this and started to cry

What utter BS, even in the best case scenario (top 20%) we are the only CHC that completes in double digits!.
Pakistanis get shafted more than any other country in the WHOLE world.

Hey where did you get this list from?

I was just looking at some data for ISL spousal processing times over the past 5 years

X % of cases were completed within X months or less
20 %   30 %   50 %   70 %   80% Total # of cases

16   17   20   23   26   1,802 Last 12 months (April 11 - March 12)
16   17   19   22   25   1,761 January 1 to December 31 (2011)
11   12   14   18   21   1,227 January 1 to December 31 (2010)
7   7   9   11   14   2,224 January 1 to December 31 (2009)
5   6   7   10   12   2,554 January 1 to December 31 (2008)
5   6   7   8   9   2,366 January 1 to December 31 (2007)

So even though they've processed less applications, the processing time itself has increased by almost double!

You'll notice that there has been basically zero variability in PT over the past 5 years for places like China and India

Any theories (conspiracy or otherwise) as to why the slow down?

You are right, the workload does not warrant the two-fold increase in processing time.
The only explanation is new protocols passed down from the conservative government in the Ottawa CIC-Headoffices.
They are discouraging canadians from getting married in Pakistan it seems.
Seems to be working.. I know alot of people who have opted out of getting married back home because of these processing times...

Just got the sponsorship approval letter in the mail.

Now the waiting game begins. Too bad I can't hibernate like a bear and make it go by quickly.

A call center agents opininon changes every 10 min or so. One should not start to believe in what they say without solid proofs. However that being said, it never hurts to dream. Go on ahead "ottawa applications" it is. Cheesy

I don't think we should delude ourselves with wishful thinking. Logically it makes 0 sense for them to start step 2 outside of the country of residence, it also has to be processed in Pakistan as per the req's of the immigration and refugee act.

Yea, the agent confirmed all my details and that application was received March 16, 2012. She also said that my application is not started on yet. I am so confused and scared. I have included option C, signed all sheets. Got it reviewed by my MP's office before submitting lol.
Did you call CPC-M everyday to get on their case, thats the only thing that comes in mind which might bring out my application from under the pile.
