Guys, I am unclear as to what the process is once the proofs are requested by CIC-I
So 6-7 months after the sponsor gets approved, they will request proofs.
Once the proofs are sent, then they will request the remeds/passport? How long after you send the proofs do they request the remeds?
Once the passport is sent, how long does it take for it to come bak stamped with a VISA ?

Hey Shaikh Brother, How are you man? Brother your file just transferred to Islamabad just yesterday. It is a very long process. They do request for additional documents after 9 to 12 months once your file transferred to Islamabad if they require it otherwise they just skipped it and Jump to Re-Medical or Re-Medical+PPR. People send them voluntarily proofs after 6 to 7 months which they believe that the Visa Officer can be satisfied with their continuing an on going relationship. Once the visa officer is satisfied with the proof you send them voluntarily or if they request it after this within a month or so expect Re-Medical or Passport Request or sometimes they request for Re-Medical+Passport Request together.  Once you sent them your passport it can take up from 3 to 6 months for them to send the passport back stamped with a visa.

last time i took it when coming back from ISB, the abudhabi-Toronto connecting flight  got cancelled and I was stuck connecting through frankfurt. spent 43 hours sleeping in airport lounges and walking around aimlessly in terminals.......
I dont mind the tasteless mareezo wala PIA food or the screaming babies, or the abnoxious pakistani uncle sitting next to me snoring loudly, as long as its a direct flight

oh and since we all applied in 2012, i suppose that many of us will be going to pakistan in this fall/winter to meet with our spouses..

Hey all,

Are any of you having problems receiving texts from Pakistan? I haven't received any text for more than two weeks now but I can send them with no issues.
My wife called warid and they said the problem is on their end and they would have it resolved within 2-3 days (this was about a week ago).
I myself am with WIND.

If anyone knows of any solutions or alternatives please do let me know

Hey Tofan,

The email in which I received the file# and UCI# just stated that they had received my application on Feb 27th. Thats all it said.
Now that I login to the CIC website, it says that a decision has been made and a letter has been sent out, and I should take mailing delays into account when anticipating it.
When I tried calling the Call center today, all their lines are bz and the system just hangs up on me lol
CIC ka pittu ban gaya hoon main =p

Its funny, I go and check the website 2-3 times a day, everyday, even tho I know nothin is going to be updated =p CIC meri zindagi ka ek buhut bara hissa ban gaya hai

I used to go back and forth on text messaging with my wife, until i saw my monthly bill, rogers ne lut machaye huwi hai Canada mai..
From what I have seen, our Canadian telecom providers are pretty good with getting the messages delivered, but if messages are not being received by you, its most probably an issue in Pk.
UFONE is the best, we havnt had too many issues with them.

Kher, now I use iMessage, much faster, easier to use, tells you when your significant other has received the message. You know it was delivered/read etc. I suggest you do the same, or start using BBM. Its much better =)

However, i want to know whether sending the voluntary documents is crucial because some people told me that by sending documents without CIC request, sometimes it can make things confused and complicated. I would appreciate your answer. Another thing is, when CIC send back the passport with Visa stamped, do they also send back all the original documents and everything with it? Thanks

Its all about luck and hard work. My wife's file was transferred in Jan 2011, her initial review was done in Feb 2012; so about 13 months. While some people who applied in May 2011 had their review done so about 9 months for them. It all depends on the Visa quota for the year and the number of staff at CHC-Islamabad. . Also, the processing speed of the file after initial review is dependent on how complete your application package is. I sent proof of contact voluntraily along with an updated Police clearance certificate 5-6 months after the file transfer and when the officer reviewed the file, he asked for Re-med and Passport request right away. While some people whose file was transferred in Aug/Sep 2010 had their review done in Dec 2011/Jan 2012 and some of them are still waiting for Re-medical and Passport request. So its all about how much effort you put together when you prepare your application package and support it with ongoing communication proof even after the application is filed.

Honestly most people here speculate no one has the right answer; I sent in tons of voluntary documents via my lawyer and they never advised me otherwise. Send it off if you feel it will help, we do our best and then leave it to Allah, at least you wont have any regrets. I heard Khalifah5 sent his and he got a response in record time, its all luck...

Read my post above.

I sent proof of contact (call history, text messaging history, emails, chats, skype logs, money transfer receipts, gift receipts ordered online etc etc) along with a new PCC from the current district and everything was mentioned in the cover letter that I sent. Make sure you have your file number on the cover letter and the rest of the stuff just in case. Always keep a copy of what you send to CHC-Islamabad. It certainly helped me in my case as the VO didn't ask for any other forms to be filled or more proof of contact etc etc.
