CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2011 -2012

I am being sponsored by my wife... My file reached Mississauga on March 5th... but no response yet.. I think I will get file number in June...

I have one question. My wife is a PR and she is in Canada. Can she come to visit me in Pakistan while my sponsorship case is in progress? I heard that only Canadian citizens can travel out of Canada while their spouse case is in progress but those on PR can't. is it true?

if its going to take 3 + 26 = 29 Months then that is VERY CRUEL rule.. we will have to live apart for almost 3 years? 

If she can visit u she should come. There is no limitation on visits as long as she stays for a month or two but no longer than that. because then they assume that u both are not planning to settle in canada. So she can visit u being a Permanent Resident.

u can get ur file # in about 2-3 months n everyone has a B n F file number its ok no worries bout that

yesh, u have to wait till july at least n then email them regarding ur file number n they will write it
on the top right hand corner

Its been 2 months since my husband sent in his passport with the re-med, its been a months since the re-med was updated on the website aswell.....how much more longer could we have to wait?? Ive emaile them and no reply!!

Oright ppl i hv Q 4 u all.Kindly comment if u hv some exp of it.I hv my brother in law & her wife just went 2 Canada(PR)Card Holder.Now as u ppl know tht case is tking v long time almost 26 month's so he is planning 2 get visit visa for himself.Would if he got the visa then it wont be an issue but if he wont get the visit visa as he dont hv any previous travel 2 any other country then wht would be the fallback of it.Would he b able 2 apply Spouse Visa if he got refused ? Quick response will be most appreciated.Many thx in advance.  Senior Form Member's Plz gv us feedback.

If I understand you correctly dear then YES your brother can apply for visit visa however many times as he like. He just needs to show some strongs ties back in Pakistan like employment letter, bank statements, property, etc which indicates his intention to return to Pakistan. She can apply for his PR in the meantime too. Seniors can explain you better.

It means they are doing background check on the applicant. Once the background check is over, they will do the initial review on the date its assigned to have it done.

when do they start background checks?? Is it after you receive your AOR from Islamabad

Also if you have received an AOR from Islamabad does that mean that initial review on the file has been done?? or the initial review starts after you receive the AOR
