I'm preparing sponsor ship application for my lovely wife from Pakistan hope full be ready by next week
Any tip on this matter?

Make sure to include as much proof as possible to avoide objection letters. I hope you have done the full wedding and NOT just Nikah only, because people are getting objection letter who have only performed Nikah but no reception. Include proofs like emails, phone call logs, chats, texts, proof of visits, lots of pictures including wedding and honeymoon, wedding inivitation cards, gift receipts, and whatever else you can provide to prove that your relatoinship is genuine and have paitience because you will need it. Its a long trip down the road but have faith and things will go very smoothly for you InshALlah. |

The only thing I did not have in my wedding was the Walima as we were to hold it here in Canada (We didnt realize it would take so long). Is it imperative that you have the Nikah, (mehndi - if having one), Rukhsathi, and Walima. Please let me know. As I don't think this is an issue, but want to be cautious. Also for pictures I had: Nikah - 8 mehndi - 4 Rukhsati - 8 Walima - 0 (as not completed) Misc - 5 (small engagement, and other gatherings) Any advice |

Include a few more pictures from each showing guests and family, I sent about 50 altogether. Also include pictures from outings after marriage such as dinners in restuarants, dawats, etc. In the sponsorship questionare form there is a question regarding reception. If you say NO to that question then make sure you explain well why you didn't have one and plan to do once in Canada. your file has been there since October 2010, did you hear anything from them or not yet. My file is there since first week of December, 2010 and I didn't hear anything from them yet.
Just curious, are they contacting applicants from October 2010 ?

Most of 2009 cases are done there are currently clearing up Jan 2010 to July 2010 cases.
My file has been transferred to Islamabad since April 2011, so how long waiting for approval ? Example: January 2011 to July 2011 cases means August 2012 next year ?? |

Sigh, this is too long, I expect normally procedures (i.e 6 months), some of my friends completed estimated time less than 1 years. I am surprised many of you are longer than 15 months. Unbearable long!! Being Pakistani is bad idea and bad reputation all over the world, impact our identifies and our loved one.  |
