I applied in May 2011, and my case was transferred in July 2011 to Islamabad.  My wife had her medical and police verification performed in April 2011.

By the looks of it, her application will not be touched before July or August 2012.  I am thinking of getting her medical and police verification redone on my own, and sending it to the Islamabad embassy.  I have her client ID and her file number.

The question is, when this is done, should I mail the medical report and police verification to the Mississauga central processing center, or directly to the Islamabad High Commission?

Please advise.

You can send updated PCC any time after 8 months of your file transferred to Islamabad, since initial review these days is made after about 10-12 months of file transfer. There's no need to send updated medical as that will be ignored and you will always receive new medical instructions from CHC-I that will have reference of your old medical records and more instruction for the DMP. Some of the Forum members have tried sending new medical records at their own, but CHC-I did not accept those reports and asked them for re-medical again.

In fact, you must send update to CHC-I after 8 months about everything that has been changed since you applied i.e. PCC, change in family, address, phone number, information about sponsor's visits to spouse including photos and copy of passport pages etc

Yes, that's correct. You need to send that to CHC, Islamabad (its better to be sent by TCS)  @

Hi all,
I am currently in Canada and a Permanent Resident. I recently got married and would be filing an application for my spouse in a couple of weeks.

My questions: In view of the current time line (26 months) for spousal sponsorship, what are the other options I can implore?

1.   After I apply for my wife's immigration through spousal sponsorship, if she applies for student visa while PR application is in progress, is that something one can do, what are the chances of getting visa? Will a refusal affect her sponsorship application?

2.  Or what about visit visa (to visit my husband for a couple of weeks) and then get an OWP when she lands here?

Also, do I have to inform CIC that I have been married now, if so where exactly?

Any comments/experiences/suggestions will be more than welcomed.

My husband got a PPR from CHC Islamabad on January 09th, 2012 and we sent the passport same day.. Could anyone tell  me how long it will take him to recieve his passport back with the visa.. any idea.. ??
