I have never used skype but i am intrested in using it for sms purpose? is there any option in skype to send & recieve sms? is it completely free or some amount is charged? Please let me know. Thanks

yes there is a website which I use from here to chat with my wifey through sms. She have ufone in Pak. This website charge you CAD $7.00 for three months and you can send and recieve unlimited SMS. The website called www.smsmarkaz.com hope this helps you. Also it's save your sent and recieved sms which you can send to CHC as your proof of comunication I did the same with mine. Your hubby or wiffey  have to purchase unlimited local sms package from Ufone which does not cost that much. Whenever he or she will reply to you it will be consider as a local sms on their side and wont cost them anything. I always use this website to chat with my wiffey via sms when I am at work and not able to call her. I found this website extreamly useful.

Salam Everyone, I hope everyone is doing fine. I was looking for a place where I can get info on cases on 2011 applicants and gladly I found this a couple of days ago. I am new here and read most of the info posted on this thread. Wes786 Bhai, please keep visiting back and continue to provide your support. Your information along with a few other members was very crucial in answering most of my questions. May Allah give you Jazaey Khair for this. I really enjoyed the first three quarters of this thread and hopefully we can get back to that flow of sharing ideas and helping each other get through this long waiting journey.


Wes786, I have a few questions for you.. if you can be so kind in answering when you get a chance, it will be greatly appreciated.

I filed my case in January, 2011 and it was approved and Sent to CHC-I in Feb. 2011. It was Nikah only case (we had a walima after) and I mentioned that we will be doing rukhsati at a later date, in about an year. It has been over a year and I haven't got any vacation to go back and do Rukhsati. I am looking at a March 2012 date to go back and do Rukhsati. I am not sure because they will start doing initial reviews of AORs of February 2011 by then and it will be too late to send updates in time as it would take at least a month update the file anyways.

Q1. My question is, should I follow-up with the CHC-I right now with all of the updates I have collected since January, 2011 (phone records, money transfer receipts, sms, etc) and write a cover letter stating my future plans for Rukhsati? So that they don't send an objection letter.
Q2. I also don't have any gift receipts as they were hand delivered via friends and family, should I take photos of the gifts and attach with the updates?
Q3. We exchanged greeting cards, do I send in the originals or take a photo or photocopy them?

Still waiting for a reply from CHC-I to give me my Applicant File #, requested it as soon as I found out this site!

Glad to see someone else use smsmarkaz besides me   I have a problem with it though, it doesn't keep your sent items forever like it does for incoming sms. Do you just take screenshots of the inbox/outbox and print? I save the files as PDF, but it keeps deleting the outbox so I have to keep saving the pdf files (I have so many right now...)

brother you said you had a Walima after Nikah.........as far as i know, technically Walima is always after Rukhsati.........that's what i know about Walima.........but i'm not 100% sure if it's true or not

Awwww, as a woman I completely understand how you feel I sincerely wish that once you get to Canada, your relationship with your husband will improve. Some people are just not good at expressing their feelings, so I hope that's the case with him.

thanks for understanding my feelings i know everything will be ok once we r together but it will take time for him to come to Canada....i am busy here with my work and all other stuff but still have time for him but he doesnt this is not gud....u know care and love should be from both persons....if i start to ignore him then he will have lots of complains from me i know but husband should understand naaaa k we wife needs to talk...........
we should contact to gather that prooof of relationship things as well bcoz we didnt have reception..it was just shaadiii.........ufffff how should i make him understand

Since it is taking longer these days for initial reveiws, You can wait till March and send everything together after your rukhsaki along with all the updated proofs and a strong cover letter. If you don't have any gift receipt don't worry about sending them photos of the gifts but do send them the cards and send them originals they will be returned with the VISA and your passport. As a woman I understand you my friend but don't be so sad. i think life is very tough and busy over there. When you are at work, you are expected to do only work and you hardly get time during working hours to make calls. Then the timing difference. If both of them are working then it becomes more difficult. For working couple, the most convenient option is calls or sms through mobile phones. InshAllah this tough time will pass quickly and you will be with him soon.

agree with QD......when both husband and wife are working plus 10 hours time difference it becomes difficult to talk to each other.......and mobile phones are best options for that.........still me and my wife somehow manage to talk to each other for like 1-2 hours when it's night at my side on phone and the same time over skype when i get up in the morning........plus she has unlimited international text messages plan of Fido and she sends me SMS like anyting ......almost 50 sms per day
Ufone is the best option for cellular packages.......these days they offer 30 minutes talk time for just 10 Pak rupees

As far as I know, you can have walima multiple times..   Some people have reception in Pakistan and when the wife gets here, they have another one here.. like have a gathering for close friends and family so everyone in the society and family relatives know that you are married.

For me, it was a small gathering after the nikah and we plan to have an official one after the rukhsati, Inshallah.

Which AORs are being processed at this time? Is it still Oct 2010?
