ya thats what i thought, i know other people who have sponsored their spouses and thy have all received their initial confirmation letter in canada. however i am still worried about the time, its been 55 days now since i sent the application and i still have not received anything. i read somewhere in this thread last week that they are working on applications received on august 2, is that correct? which applications are thy working on at the moment? is it normal for it to take this long?

They are currently on august 8. Check the website. Did u try calling CIC. When ur application was delivered. Did u sent it through Canada post or fast courier.  Hope things goes well.with you.

Don't worry ur application is in safe hand. Yes it's normal to take that long because of the backlog from the Canada post strike.  My application took 70 days in Mississauga in June July August.  So its normal. You will hear positive news at the middle of next month InshAllah.  Just have faith.

hopefully  i have my fingers crossed and thank you everybody, i apprecaite u all taking ur time to answer my questions, i know im just paranoid, but inshallah things will turn out for the best, i feel alot more relaxed now knowing that im not the only one whose application is taking this long

Not to discourage u brother but, just to give u a little heads up...ur real waiting starts after ur file is transferred to Islamabad! So better be on the lookout for that, waiting time in Canada is peanuts! When I sent my app to cpc-m it used to be 39 days!!!

Immigration started at CIC ISB- Jul , 2011
Enquired myself for file number through email last week, they responded after 2 days (extremely quick) with the file number.

Friends, I cannot go back home and visit my wife due to current job and planning to apply for visit visa.

I'll greatly appreciate If anyone can help me for the following questions.

- It state 57 days of processing time on the website, anybody had recent experience of how long they took for processing of spouse visita visa
- I am putting duration of stay to 6 months, does it make any impact?
- Ties to Pakistan, As she is not working I am attaching current studying certificate any additional thing I can attach?
- I am also attaching following let me know if something doesn't make sense

   - copy of nikkah nama
   - my bank statement  (financial proof)
   - her educational documents up to M.A
   - EMPLOYER letter

  - ANY THING ELSE??

welcome to the forum chances are very less that your wife will get a visa, if she has no prior traveling history plus your spouse immigration  is also in process but I never discourage people for not to try for TRV as I have also visited CA on visit visa during my immigration process.
Follow the link and arrange all your documents accordingly then you are good to go.

hi everybody, im new here and I'm very worried   the thing is I mailed in my application to sponsor my husband on august 28th of 2011 and I still havent received a thing!! At that time the process time was 54 days and now its been over that period, however now it says 70 days, so should wait for 70 days or be concerned? I heard they send a confirmation letter upon receipt, that they have successfully received my application and are working on it, but i havent received it   please help...

According to that (Kachuva Chall) you, me and all others whom mailed there loves one application last week of august should be hear from them in near about Nov,10th.
I'm going to PK for celebrate my first anniversary and Eid with my lovely wife.

  thats soo sad, why are they doing this? Its absolutely disgusting the amount of time they are taking just to prepare the application for process. its taking them 3 months to just let u know if the application is complete or if something is missing and they also keep increasing the process time after is goes to islamabad..whats up with that? i still remember when it used to take only 4-6 months   i miss my hubby

Around January 2012 they will do initial review of your file and prolly a month or two later you will get Medical in sha Allah

I Guess Present Federal rolling party “Conservators” cut down Immigration and it's beget and this is not important task for them, therefore applicant in every class specially from Pakistan have to longer wait which is sad

I sent my application on 3rd Aug 2011. Still i didn't receive any confirmation. Although now they are working on applications sent on 8th Aug. i guess its canada post behind this delay.
