It has been raised to 7 years officially. But again official processing times for spouse are 16months and we are seeing so many delays so you can imagine yourself for skilled workers. |

Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I sincerely doubt that is true. The background checks of Pakistanis alone take so much time. It may have happened for a few people in certain professions desperately needed in Canada. But for most it is very very long. |

I hope the following information will help some of you.
Mine was a Husband Case
I am a Canadian Citizen and I have a daughter from this wedlock who is also a Canadian Citizen
My Case started processing in Islamabad in June 2009.
I was in Pakistan when i applied for my husband's immigration therefore the embassy sent me a letter in October 2009 asking me to prove that i will re-establish in Canada once my husband gets his immigration.
We provided the information to the embassy and in Jan 2010 i received another letter from the embassy for Medical.
In May 2010 i received a letter from the embassy for Police Certificate and supplementary forms
After that i did not hear anything from the embassy till February 2011 - Every time i wrote to the embassy i was told that my case is in background checks.
I received 3 letters in February 2011 1: I got a request for submission of police certificate along with 5 forms that i had previously filled aswell including the Schedule 1
15 days later we got a re-medical request
9 days later we received the PPR

how about this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp They are issuing them in 11 months while spouse cases good lord 16 months |

I have a Question if any one could answer please in my AOR its written it take 9months to process your application with in this time dont contact us ,but now their nine months going to finish and no news is that true that it takes nine months as per their written on the letter i received from islamabad??[/b]
