Hey guys,

I got my GCMS today the letter my wife recieved last couple days ago. In the caips it has everything clearly noted what was requested in the letter.. I dont know how to check the dates when will my file be re-open and when will he send us the re-medical because it has said that medical has expired request letter to be sent now when does the second letter comes? right after the first one or could be a difference of time..PLz help its hard to  understand GCMS. How will i know in the caips does it show the date when will i recieve the re-medical.

Its hard to predict when your wife will get the Re-med. Once your wife mails out the requested information and documents, then they wil open your wife's file after 45 days of the date the letter was sent out. You could get the Re-medical earlier as well depending on if they are active and looking to fill 2012 first quarter quota for Visa. Don't worry, this process would be over for you guys in the next 4 months or so InshaAllah.

Okay, it sounds like you got GCMS notes and not CAIPS. Here is site that would help you understand GCMS codes.

Lock-in means the date they received/opened your application.

got it...i hope CHC-I gets on our case quick...from what we are seeing here Jan/Feb case are being sent for background checks already while Nov/Dec cases are receiving first response/initial review...october cases are mostly done or waiting for ppr...rest of the cases have various diff stories...

one question...how long is the background check process? Do they do initial review right away after background check?

I might order CAIPS if I don't get any response from CHC-I till April.

Thank you!!! Yes this is what I had ordered. It also says CAIPs don't exist anymore as of April 2011. If you order CAIPs you automatically receive GCMS notes...weird!

On each part of the notes where it suggested criminality/security checks, the "due date" for it is exactly one year after the date of AOR/File transfer. My husband has already mashaAllah received re-medical in November and the only BFD date i see is January 14, 2011 and a separate note which states once medical results have been received, the file can be transferred into the next queue. InshaAllah it will be done within the next couple of months.

Dear Raptorsfan, My application is from Oct 2010 but there is no word from chc yet. I am planning to write them but will wait for another week to 10 days & then write them if I don't hear from them.

One of my family friends, his wife file transfer was Nov 2009, his wife got all those forms to refill in Dec 2010 originally but it never got to her. They waited till March 2011. The sponsor then e-mailed CHC-I and they said that we did not recieve anything from you and we were going to close your file. In March 2011 they sent everything to his wife in e-mail. His wife then got PPR in June 2011 and arrived in July 2011. The papers got lost somewhere by Pakistan Post apparently. I saw all the communication he had with CHC-I, back and fourth.

Last time I sent a package of few pictures, calling cards, email record and call history to chc Islamabad through post office and it cost me around $60.00

I don't think they are working in a sequence but As I had posted a joke earlier regarding their forgetfulness.
Just incase if you missed that one.
An absent-minded Visa officer in Islamabad decided to never mind about sponsorship cases for spousal visa but at least he had conquered his problem of trying to remember his wife's birthday and their anniversary.
He opened an account with a florist, provided that florist with the dates and instructions to send flowers to his wife on these dates along with an appropriate note signed, “Your loving husband.”

His wife was thrilled by this new display of attention and all went well until one day, some bouquets later, when he came home, kissed his wife and said off-handedly, “Nice flowers, honey. Where'd you get them?”

I sent stuff through Fedex, DO NOT send it to PO BOX address. They are not going to send it to a PO BOX address as its not a postal service. If the weight is less than a 1lb then its $100 plus tax...if its more then it can be up to $200.

I sent a bunch of things as proof of visit as I had sent 62 pics, so the weight was 1.3lb and it cost me $139 tax included.
