One2Ka4: Becasue this new law or policy whatever it is. It simply give more power to IO to refuse cases if they have doubt on the genuity of marriages. But the refusal letter will not state that the decision is under the new policy, it will simply says that the IO is not convinced. This is my opinion and I think you understand what i mean.

UOC. Thanks for the valuable input. I fully understand your point.

In these days VO become conveinced easly with Williame & Kate MOC [Ap note kr lo mera point agr ye dono 2yr ke inder inder alida na hoye tu meri adhi monch kat dena. heheh] and more easly with mankind made same sex marriage rule [Astaghfirullah] and further very easly with common-law-law relation "Stay togather 1yr in relationship do all the haram work and after 1 yr no problem in approving the case, doesnt matter after obtaing the PR make another common-in-law relation with someone else, I call it not a relationship but a relationshop but very hard to be conveinced with the God given rule which is a Nikah in between Boy & Girl. After all Iblees also said to God that he will distroy entire mankind and Lord you will see nobody will recognize you. So to me Iblees & his agents are in full motion to prevent the halal and make the haram facilities easy.

Thanks everyone.

What should be the plan now?  Should I contact the MP for the first time and ask him for his help? and/or to get to know the status of my application?

Thanks buddy, I know you and I are in the same boat.  Insha'Allah, 2011 will be a blessed year for all of us by the grace of Almighty Allah.

I sent the following documents:

1. Proof of emails (Inbox and samples) - screen shots
2. Telephone bills
3. Letter from employer explaining why I was in Pakistan for only 2 weeks to get married
4. Original boarding pass
5. Letter: explaining what my wife will do if she doesn't get a visa (Allah na karay -- Ameen Suma Ameen)
6. Letter: what she knows about me and my family
7. Post marriage photos
8. Ceremony receipts
9. My wife's approved leave application
10. Letter: explaining why I am not supporting her financially -- i.e. She is working mashaAllah and we both are saving money to settle here in Canada etc... blah blah...

That's it.  I pray that we hear some good news soon by the grace of Allah -- InshaAllah. I wonder if it will be easy for the CHC-I to check the validity of PIA boarding pass, ceremony receipts, hotel receipts, travel tickets, and phone bills (of Canadian carrier) etc.

i would suggest, lets pray for each other case. Smiley

hey my time line is almost same as yours ..

except i got my AOR on 21 Jan,

got a letter frm them in mid oct, tht my marriage isn't genuine n was solely enterd into to get da vis, they asked for post marriage photos and many more things.. with a P.S: tht ITS IN MY BEST INTEREST IF I FURNISH THEM ALL THE REQUIRED DOCS.

then my husband came here for month, n we arranged all the rasoomaat , ruksati n recption

and after all the JAD-O-JJAHAD i got Re medical n updated PCC request, also they want me to submit other docs again like IMM 0008, add family info n 5460. i dint understand tht y r they asking for the same docs again, which i have alredy submitted??

PakiGirl. Thanks for sharing your story with us. Did you receive re-medical & PCC after submitting the Reception/Rukhsti proof or before that.

They ask for all those forms again to see what the recent activities are, any additions to the family etc etc. They basically want the updated information because initial documents were sent a year ago. Hope that helps...

Some of the recent cases I have seen are taking up to 3 months to receive an AOR. I would wait atleast until end of January before contacting them.

Thanks, Wes. Its been exactly 3 months for us and my wife sent them an email a few days ago as we just wanted to make sure our application was received and everything is okay. I guess it is somewhat comforting to know it is taking that long for others as well. Over 3 months for the AOR is ridiculously long.

See if there is any update on CIC website using your client ID. Check what it says under permanent residence application it should say "in process" if it's been in their system already. If they havnt updated it then it will probably say N/A.

hi Guys,
I am from british columbia and I applied for my wife canadian permanent residence on December, 2010 to Missisauga Ontario. I am looking at the cic website and they say it take about 16 months now for case processing and approval. I am planning to apply for her visit visa here in canada once i get an approval from canadian embassy. Is it ok to apply for a visit visa while her residence application is in process.? are there any negative effects on her residence application if visit visa gets refused..third question would be that is it really takes 16months now or if there are any cases which get approval before 16months..would appreciate your feedback..thanks
