We need o draw attention of Pakistani Media towards this problem... 1-2 Years ago when the British Embassy was taking soo much time in issuing visas, people went to media and in a month it became a hug issue, then our PM requested British Ambassador to sort out the visas issue and they took 2-3 months to sort out all the log...... I have already wrote my story to almost all TV Channels in Pakistan....If few others will write to them than surely this issue will get attention

Well... we decided that we have to arrange for a walk either infront of parliment hill or Mississauga Citizenship office. Before the next meeting we need to find out the process for having this walk, permissions that are required, Cost Involved, Getting 200 people on board... Getting media to cover... so much and so forth...

Can anyone sue Canadian Immigration Department for these delays? Is it possible?

YOu all have to understand one thing. The only country that is taking so long for immigration processes is Pakistan. WHY??? May be its not the CIC - ISLamabad that is taking up the time, may be its the other government offices in Pakistan where CIC send the information for background checks, nikah namas, birth certificates validations and other document checks. When CIC send them the information to get these documents verified, who knows how long these government offices take to get them verified. You all know how governrment offices in pakistan run, may be they are the ones taking all the time and because of that CIC is unable to keep up the work they are supposed to. Every week there are bomb blasts in different parts of the country they don't have a choice but to close their office and leave to save their lives. So its a tough call and I don't know who to blame....

Ok i dont agree with the above mentioned part...... All Pakistani Banks, Corporations, Government Institutions etc have a facility of checking all this information through VERISYS (The Software implemented during the Musharaf Regime)..... you just have to enter the ID Card number of the person and it gives all the details like criminal record, address, marriage registration and even the credit historyy.....
This software is used by all companies in Pakistan, specially by banks and police .... If you know anyone in Police or Bank just ask them about Verisys and they will tell you that it contains all details of Pakistani Individuals
Also i think it depends on IO if he/she wants to send the application for further security check to CSIS....(Comments from cic.gc.ca about security check" "Canada's visa officers abroad are our first line of defence. They are specially trained to identify people who could pose a security risk, and they send anyone suspicious for further security checks"

What about educational certificates??? They are not the part of Verisys for sure, else Supreme Court of Pakistan won't had asked Educational department for the verification of the degrees owned by Member of Parliament. There are number of municipalities specially in Karachi. And every municipality of Karachi used to issue birth certificate in Past for their zone, not sure about Present. These municipalities take forever for any kind of verification, editing/correction in to the documents without a bribe. They have no records in Verisys. Every thing they have is in Papers/Files. I know this because i had to go through with the process in the past where i need to have a name or the person corrected. Verisys is only valid for computerized NIC, passports, any document issued by NADRA, bank credit history checks, Revenue and taxation. Other than that every thing in Pakistan is on papers and file. If you have ever get a chance to go to Police station for a FIR. You will see that they don't even put your complaint on computer. They will note it down on loose papers, not even on proper journal. There is no electronic record, atleast in karachi, in Police stations. If you want a Police certificate in one day, then you have to pay Rs. 2000 else forget it for months. So wake up my friend. And yes i do know people who works in bank, and in Government Departments.

Happy to read this forum for spousal sponsor. I read all the posts, meeting on 26th September and next step.
Sent sposorship application to CPC, Mississauga : July 11, 2009 Transferred case to CHC, Islamabad : August 21, 2009 Letter received from CHC, Islamabad : September 30, 2009 Updated info. of New born baby : February 05, 2010 Wife Medical expired : May 05, 2010 Additional Info. required by CHC, Islamabad : May 12, 2010 Additional Info. required by CHC, Islamabad : June 28, 2010 Next Review date was : August 28, 2010
Still waiting for response from CHC, Islamabad. We both very upset. Very lazy CHC officials like other countries. Our Pakistani Govt., Media, Foreign Ministers, Ambassodors should take notice of that.
Our old Good Muslim Rulers just sent message to Cruel Rulers of other areas and they feared and refrained from cruelty. Current rulers no expectations.
Can we sue against immigration authorities?

Yes you can file a case against Canadian Immigration and Citizenship , only if you believe that your case is taking longer than usual without any reason. In Pakistan, Islamabad embassy is processing every one's case, spousal based, withing the time period of 12-17 months on average. So i am not sure about filing the case at this point since your case is in pending only for 15 months. But yeah it had sped up the cases in the past for individuals. You can give it a try, if you feel like so.
