Dear Members,
I have applied for permanent residence under skilled worker class in January 31, 2008 at CHC Islamabad and have received the acknowledgment of  receipt on Feb 01, 2008. They have also send me a receipt of Fee  dated Feb 26, 2008.
Later I got a letter from CHC, Islamabad regarding confirming my continuing interest in immigrating to Canada in Sep 25, 2008. Afterward I heard nothing so far from any side. However, whenever I wanted to check my application status online, nothing I could find there from.

I want to know that whether I am on right track and is this normal processing time or should i have to provide more details in this forum to get some useful information about the status of my application.

Thanks

Since you applied under the 'old' system, I'm sure you will know that your application may take between 3-4 years to process.

Since I applied before 28th Feb 2008 and then a new plan was introduced by Canadian Government, is it possible for me to convert to new scheme and my previous application fee may considered for new scheme of FSW class?

Dear,
If you are eligible for new scheme than you may surely apply because the old application will be processed in approx 5 years

no, you will have to pay fee with your new application. your old fee is not going to be considered for the new application. that was the fee you paid for the old application.

If you want to make a fresh application you have to check first if you qualify under the 38-list. If you do then you can apply again by all means but have to pay application fees again.

And if you do that then you can ask CIC to return your old aplication and refund fees but that may take upto 6 months.

your previous fee will not refunded. There was only chance when you received a confirmation letter from CHC
