Hi,

I had a minor offense in abudhabi and was fined by the court. (For having a bottle of wine in hand. Not drinking. Not DUI)

I dont have the receipt from the court or have any documents.

1) How can I get the documents from court ?
2) Would the offense be on the police certificate if I apply for one? I have never seen a police certificate. Would the detail of offense, case number etc. be there on it?

Thanks to all gr8 ppl here..

How long ago was this offense committed? If it is within the last two years, you might to apply to be rehabilitated.

You need to apply to the court where the sentence was passed on you. Using a solicitor might hasten it.

I would advise that you apply for the PC first. If the offense is still very fresh say less than five years then there will still be a live trace on it. In other words, the PC will pick it up although it might not have all the details about case number and the rest.

Coming to think of it, I don't know whether possession of alcohol is considered an offense in Canada.

Peace.
