Hi Guys n Gals,

Is there any way or process to change the visa office once the full app is sent to local visa office( in my case Buffalo). I am anticipating of getting a job offer in India and dont want to decline even though I have the Canada PR application is submitted at Buffalo. I sent the app on first week of sept,09.
What would be ideal to me is to have the application transferred to ND office, dont want to go thru obtaining all the PCC's and so on again. I had much trouble with those.

Or, if possible I will leave my application with Buffalo as it is...send medicals and other stuff from India.

Any one in the similar situation?? Any tips? guidance??

Hi,

I am in the same situation. I have applied to Buffalo office in Oct 2008. Moved back to India in March. Sent change of address to Buffalo after receiving the AOR. Recently sent the medicals also from India. Not sure about the next process, when they ask for passport where do I need to send the passport.  I need answer for those.

Thanks

If you get PPR it will have to be taken to Buffalo, as it illegal to mail passports in/out of India and Buffalo will only return passports in their processing area.

Buffalo approved my request to transfer my file to my home country because I have a valid reason. The waiting time is 4 months.  It's a case to case basis.  If you really want your file to be transfer then you have to write to your local visa office if you already received your second AOR if not then you should write to CIO-NS and local visa office.   Their decision will be based on the integrity of their program.

Hi Alpha,
When you say "wait time" of four months, do you mean time taken to transfer to New Delhi after approval by Buffalo?
Did CIC Buffalo inform wait time in their communication?
Thanks.

Just for record, not everyone's file will be transferred by CIC. It is decided on a case by case basis. You need to have a really strong case to have the file transferred to another visa office. In the end, it all depends on the CIC.

The best way to verify any information on Canadian Immigration is to visit the official website of CIC - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

Dear Friends,

Received mail from Buffalo office to submit my passport for issuance of Visa. Now the confusion starts. AS I mentioned earlier, I have moved back to India in March this year. Don't have valid visa to goto US and the stamping of visa done and as PMM said, cannot send the passports via post or courier. In CIC site itself they have mentioned, Buffalo office will not deliver the passports outside US and Canada. This leaves me only one option to ask Bufffalo office to transfer my case to local office.

Can anybody advice what is the best way to go abt it ?

Thanks...

Hi! Honolulu,

My case is like this...when I submitted my full docs to Buffalo they returned the whole package with a letter of request for my status here in USA. Unfortunately I have issue on that so what my lawyer did is they write a letter to Buffalo cc CIO-NS about my current status here and at the same time we requested transfer to my home country.  From the very beginning of my application I already declared that I am out of status here but still CIO-NS instructed us to submit to buffalo.  During the time of my application the form doesn't have the option to choose visa office.   I counted the 4 months from June 26  which is the date of my letter to Oct. 21 which is the date of AOR from Manila.

You could always request transfer of file when you have valid reason like my case.  They know that I declared everything right from the very start and maybe CIO-NS does not look into that but right now is different all applicant has the option to choose visa office.  So if you know that your file cannot be process in Buffalo and you still pick the same then maybe they would say no but if your reason is you want to go back to your home country due to unavoidable circumstances, then maybe they would say yes.   It's really a case to case basis and I don't know exactly what they mean by if it will not affect the integrity of the program.

Another thing....On June 26 when my lawyer write to Buffalo and CIO-NS to request transfer, they also forward my full application package to Manila visa office. According to them this is for not wasting time.  I know they did not lie on this because on my second AOR it's written that Manila received the package on June 29, 2009.
