Hi Everyone!

So, I've landed and finally sorted out all of my everythings. I have my PR card, license, etc etc and have settled in nicely.

I don't think I will be travelling outside of Canada again until June and am really keen to finally assume my married name.

It seems like all I have to do inside Canada is take my marriage license to a Service Ontario centre, easy peasy. I'm having trouble though finding details on how to change my US passport from abroad... does anyone here have any advice? Is there anything else I need to change in the states as well.... SSN, etc?

Also, how do you change your PR card?

Thanks so much for all your help!

Yes, you can change the name on your US passport by mail from Canada.  I've done it.  Here's the information from the US Treasurer's website.  Information on how to order a new PR card is available on this page of the CIC website.  I'm not sure about your SSN - originally it was required that you change your name on your SSN in person.  Recently I've been hearing that it's possible to do that by mail as well, but I haven't found any specific information yet on how to do that.  Here's a link to SSN information.

Good info to know, I changed my name on my passport, driver's license, etc, but not my SS card.
