I'm considering changing my last name to my husband's. Currently I'm in the middle of the immigration process. It is advisable to do this now or wait to be able to immigrate to Canada and then make the change?

Hi,

I suggest you don't do any change now. It would cause delay in your application processing. After immigrating to Canada you can proceed with adding your husband's name.

Ya, Dont change it now.
After you're in Canada, you could take/add his last name on your driving license and while filling out social security forms without any pain.

Your PR card will be issued in whatever name is in the PP submitted for your visa.  So if you want it changed after you change your name, you have to pay the fee to get a new one.

I changed my PP after my application was submitted, and sent in a copy of the new PP when I knew that my file had been received by the visa office.
