Changing marital status after immigration application

Hello,

I have applied to Canadian Permanent Residency under Provincial Nominee Class (Ontario) last February and received my medical exam forms last Thursday. Initially, I have applied as a single person but now, I would like to add my boyfriend to my application as a common law partner. The problem is, we are living actually together more than 2 years and I haven't declared him as my partner when I first submitted my immigration application (since I wasn't feeling that myself and our relationship was mature enough to declare a "common law marriage".) Do you think it's risky to add him now?

On you submission for application of ur Common law partner at this sage VO may now think you have concealed his info earlier and this can go againt you. It woud be better if u get ur PR , land and then marry him and file sponsorship application.

Not a smart suggestion.  If they have been in C/law relationship and she "lands" with declaring the C/law relationship then even if they marry, he will not longer be a member of the family class, and the sponsorship will be refused R179(4).  She should declare him now and add him to the application.

Be honest in your request....and mention honestly what you felt at the time of submission of application....these things happen as human nature is complicated and takes time to build up trust. I am happy that your relationship matured and you are now willing to make the commitment. Really happy for you...not all relationship are as Fortunate as yours.

I am sure VO would understand. Please include all information that would support your claim for C/law....without that VO might fail the application.
