I wonder if anyone has done it... We sent sponsorship application to Alberta office and still not processing, is it possible to recall it and reapply with outside of Canada application. If so, what is involved? Thanks.

You can't turn an INLAND file into an OUTLAND one.
If you want to start an OUTLAND process you will have to withdraw your inland file and start all over again as an 'outlander.'

When did you send your application to Vegreville, Alberta?

Mid June last year and looks like it will be another year or more to finalize... the mental stage that you are unable to leave the country is the worst thing, especially when you are home sick.

There is a point in time that you are still able to withdraw your app and get refunded you app fee. I cannot remember when that is but it says when on the payment page on CIC's website. Maybe worth calling CIC? Good luck and good idea.

By the way, I'm sorry to hear you are homesick. That's one of the challenges of emigrating but thanks to the internet, it makes it a little easier (skype, facebook). Also when you do see your family & friends again in your home country, just think how nice it'll be to see them! Keep your chin up. HUG

If you applied mid June last year you should be hearing about a decision soon. Did you get AIP yet? You can call the CIC hotline and try to get info about your application. They are working on application received up to June 14th 2010.

Since you applied mid june last year it wouldnt be wise to withdraw your app at this time since you should get first stage approval in the upcoming days (that is if u didnt already receive it and if your file wasnt transfered to the local office) after first stage they are taking 4-6 months in finnishing second stage process (the estimated time is nine months unless you have complications in ur security check like military backround and so on...)

Factors to look at if decide to withdraw and go with outland:

1.Are you from a visa exempt country?
2.Processing times for the CIC office in your country?

Compare it with where your at so far and decide....Just my opinion

Good luck

I just found this on the CIC web site and thought I'd send it on:
"You may only withdraw your application before the Visa has been issued. There are no refunds after processing has started."

Some people have done this and got their money back.  It depends upon what stage of the process it is at.  If the inland application has not had a review for AIP, it can be withdrawn and a refund of fees will be issued.

zhulik: I truly believe that you should just wait. You will be hearing back about it in a week or two at the most. They are already processing those sent up to June 18th right now. After you get approved for that then it is an estimated 9 months after the AIP to get PR but most people have gotten PR interview in as little as a month afterward getting approved for AIP. I know the wait is hard, believe me but I think if you come over to the "Inland 2010" thread you will find comfort by those that are in your situation including myself.

Not much longer now!
