Dear Seniors,

my wife has a passport on her father's name and i have sent the same in application.
Now when the VO asks for the final submission of PP ,then should i have to convert that passport on my name?Huh?
Her full name remains the same but at the place of "Fathers name" ,  "Husbands Name" will then be written..
so is it necessary to change this or i should go on with the same particulars..HuhHuh
Should my name must be written under the husbands name or we can go without it???

The main concern for me is that this change may be the reason for more delay..or it may be not..

Need your advice..
Thanks in advance

Hi kml2706,

This is not a suitable time for a change in her name because that could cause a delay. If the name given is as is in her passport, there is no problem.

You can change her name after getting your PR and settling down in Canada. There is plenty of time ahead. Any how there is no need of hurry now. It could have been done earlier before applying.

Well actually i make it more clear that the name wouldnot be change in any way..i just want to change the passport particulars ..
In her passport there is written her fathers name  and not mine as it was her passport before our marriage ..i just want to get my name on the passport ..her name and passport number would be same after that..
i also dont want to do this even but i have a little doubt that VO may ask to submit a passport in which her husband(mine) name should be written rather than her fathers name
plz comment

I think her passport must have your name. As this will give another proof of your marriage.
And in Pakistan Passports of Husbands do not have name of their wives. But Wife's passport has husband name.

If you are not going to correct her name in her passport, then go ahead.
Get your name added and then take a photocopy of the  pages of her updated  passport  (no need for blank pages) and send to the VO with a simple covering letter.

If you do it or don't, there is no effect. Her visa and COPR will be showing her name as in her passport.
The Visa Processing officers have thorough  knowledge about your culture and practice. From the passport and marriage certificate they can understand that the passport was issued before marriage. The question comes only when there is a doubt about the genuine relationship of the husband and wife. They don't suspect each and every applicant.

Thanks wilson for your comments..i also think the same that for them(VO) ,it doesnt matter whether father's name or husband's name is written on it..All they want is the correct name of spouse...rest the relationship of ours is very clear from our marriage certificate..and the passport particulars can be verified by checking the issuance date of her passport which was before our marriage..

Getting my name on it would not b any harm to me but it may delay my proceessing as a new document has to be added on in my file..Am i right?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

Thanks again,

Yeah thats what I think. It might delay your processing. I think you should go for modified passport. And when you get it,update the VO for the same.

Not necessary, he can but it wont impact his application so best thing is not to change it now
