Hi, I officially closed my first bank account last February 2011 due to high charges imposed and my first bank statement from the old account submitted to CIC last september 10. I opened a new account from the other bank last November 2010. Got my first PER last February 2, 2011. Do I need to inform the Visa Office about the changes?
Now my latest e-cas status is Received by Visa Office.
According to my agent we should wait for the Visa O ffice to request for it if needed. But I do not totally believed my agent and need advise from others in forum.
Thank you and hoping to hear from your experience. More power and God bless us all.

They don't verify proof of funds submitted with the Banks. As long as you hold the funds in any account with any bank it's OK, no need to inform them of the change of bank. Your agent is right, wait for the VO, if they request, then only send the clarification.

Thank you very much Yukon...God bless you.
Well as far as I learn from the seniors of this forum that its always a good idea to inform VO in any change may occur specially with settlement funds... Nobody can guarantee that CHC/VO won't verify the POF (They have their own exclusive ways....) at any point in time as per one documented and seniors also advised to keep the fund (minimum required balance) and information updated at least until one gets Medical request (Its always suggested to keep the Fund by the visa stamping if possible).

Mate, there'no need to inform them of this... if you read their manuals they only ask you to update them if there are any chnages in circumstances related to employment, address change, email change or chnage in family composition... its your money you can keep it anywhere you want to... if they need proof again they will ask for it........please do not confuse yourself over this................ VO does not verify the source of funds or the holder of the funds. They go by what you have submitted. CHC does not have the power to inquire with Banks for disclosure of customer accounts. As long it is a bank of repute in the home country, it is fine. The funds can exist in any bank, it does not matter as long as they exist. Bank is not important here. You can transfer your funds to any bank as long as you satisfy the POF requirements at any given time during the processing of your application. BTW the POF (actual cash, DD, bank acc. TC etc. in CAD) is also required at the time of landing.

How can you not inform them about change in your status. What if they verify and come to know about the closure of account It will be termed is miinformation. THING from the other side of the table INFORM THEM rightaway DBC Hi, I officially closed my first bank account last February 2011 due to high charges imposed and my first bank statement from the old account submitted to CIC last september 10. this update will be absolute unneccessary... well they only wanted a POF at the time of application...right? assuming they check with Bank which is very rare or does'nt happen will not cause a rejection since applicant provided the POF at the time he applied. they can only ask for POF once again and thats about it. How can you not inform them about change in your status. What if they verify and come to know about the closure of account It will be termed is miinformation. Not required. VO can check only the authenticity of documents. Where you keep your funds in not at all relevant.

I agreed with your consultant. Bank change doesn't require updating your VO.

Don't wait for VO to ask since a material fact has changed - bank account.
Better to let them know now rather than the VO thinking you are trying to be smart. Its just a mail you need to send.
