Hi All,

Buffalo received my application on Jan 18, 2011. My cheque was cashed on March 2, 2011. I did not receive anything from them yet, meaning that I don't have any FILE NO. All I have is Ontario PNP Certificate/File No. and Client ID#

I recently relocated within Ontario as a part of my job rotation although I'm employed in the same postion with the same company. Should I inform Buffalo about my change of address and phone numbers via email? Or, I should wait to get an AOR/ File No. as it requries the File No to be mentioned in the email?

Reference: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/change_address-changement_adresse.aspx?lang=eng

I actually did not know that it takes 30 weeks to get an AOR. I was aware of this relocation and hence used my friend's address. Unfortunately, my friend is moving out of that place very soon. I need suggestions. Thanks.

According to me you should inform them your new address. It can be done by sending them an e-mail with your complete details. I don't think you will get any confirmation on that, but once you have access to e-case, ( can be logged with your work-permit file no. ).

Thanks for your thought InEdm. I've already drafted the email. According to the link I provided, it asks for FILE NO. I'm saying NA and putting a separate line of my PNP Certificate#. I think that's alright.

Should I provide my previous address that was stated in my original application for their convenience? Or, it will just confuse them.
And I email them my new address and phone number.

I think you should mention your old and new addresses clearly. Your old address will also work as reference for them because you still dont have file no. ( In addition I would sugget your DOB should be included )

Hi Rossei:
I am in the same boat as you are about the information update with Buffalo. I emailed them 6 weeks ago regarding my personal information change. They said, dont email them anything regarding any changes till we get our file number. They cannot make any changes until the file had statarted processing

So once you get your file number, You can change it.

Yeah, I will be including NAME, DOB, COB, CITIZENSHIP, PP#, CLIENT# & PNP#. Also old and new addresses.

I see. But since they are prolonging the time-length of sending an AOR (from 20 weeks to 30 weeks); I will need to change it. The mailing address I mentioned in my app is a rental apartment and my friend is leaving it soon to move to his own house he just bought.

Do you see anything in the e-cas with your client id yet?
Nothing yet; I try often though.

I sent the email for "Change of Address" to Buffalo yesterday and received an auto-reply of acknowledgement. Let's see what happens next.

How do I check that they updated my address. Can I follow it on e-CAS?

First: I sent an email to Buffalo (buffalo-im-enquiry) re: this change in June (before getting AOR). They never replied back.

Second: When I received my AOR in email on July 21, 2011; I at once uploaded a TEXT file containing my new contact info (address and phone number) using "case specific enquiry". I was told to use this for change of address in the AOR email.

Third: I again sent an email to Buffalo (buffalo-im-enquiry) asking for a corfirmation on July 25, 2011. I got a reply asking me not to use e-CAS for changing address. Well, when I used case specific enquiry - Buffalo, it automatically selected a form from CIC I guess where you've to fill out some blanks, your message and can also upload a file. Moreover, my e-CAS is showing my old mailing address as of now.

Fourth: When I got my Medical Request on the same day (I actually received it day after), it has my OLD mailing address but NEW phone number.Shocked

So, I'm totally confused now. Hence, I again faxed them the form of changing address that came with my medical request. The form already had my File Bar Coded Sticker on it. It was meant for either mailing or faxing. My last choice would be mailing it to them.

Can anyone has any suggestions?

Since no1 seemed helpful here, I help myself.

At last, Buffalo emailed me back. They actually replied to my email (sent on July 25) and said that they'd updated my address. It again mentioned that I shouldn't use CIC - change of address forms.

But it's very disturbing to see my old mailing address when I log into my e-CAS. I can easily change it online. But Buffalo keeps saying not to change address using e-CAS because Buffalo would not be able to download the change made in CIC. Well, I don't want Buffalo to do anything; yet I want to change the address in e-CAS (just in case). There is no point of putting up an invalid address anywhere.

SHOULD I CHANGE MY ADDRESS IN e-CAS?

Well, if ur address is updated then why bothering to change in ecas? Cos by not listening to them u dont want any delays or any other issues with ur application.. My suggestion would be to follow them.. I mean dont change in ecas as long it is updated at their office

Its better if you are close to your embassy to go change your address in person.
