Change in status or change in legal status

What does it mean by change in status or change in legal status ? My application was submitted while I was in USA after my medical was done in USA, I had to come back to my home country with my family as our VISA got expired. Does it considered as change in status ? I have recvied the landing visa with approval letter, where following has been mentioned :

“ If there is any change in legal status or change in status of you and your accompanying family and if you failed to report same to consulate, please do not proceed to Canada. Your visa won't be valid in port of entry regardless of any advice you may have received from anyone who helped you to file the application. “

I am not sure whether I should proceed to Canada with my family or not. Please help me with expert advice.

Proceed they want to know if you have criminal charges since the PCC and if you have married or had additional children.
