Hi All,

First of all i want to thank everybody on this forum. I got a great amount of  information and help regarding Canada PR application process.

I tried to search a lot but could not find the information regarding my latest query, hence starting a new topic.

I filed my final docs, as requested by Bufallo visa office in Jan ,11 and received file number and acknowledgement last week saying my file is being assessed.

I recently got married (March 11) and am now confused on the next steps. I want to add my wife to my file and get her PR also processed along with mine. I did not intimate visa office prior as i was waiting for the file number to be generated.

Please guide me on this and next steps i should follow. Also, kindly advice on docs which i need to submit for my wife and if adding her as dependent will affect processing timelines.

Thank you very much!

Dear meninblue,

In my best understanding, you should notify the VO immediately the change in your family composition (by sending a letter and also fax the same). Please check the link below (Factors that facilitate processing):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG77.asp

I also understand that you need to send the following for your spouse upon VO's instruction:

1. Form: Schedule 1
2. Form: Additional Family Information
3. Form: Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (Modification might be required) for you only
4. Documents: Passport, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, All Academic Credentials, Experience Certificate/Letter of Employment (if applicable)
5. Photo: 5/6 copy photographs
6. Fee: CAD550

So you should be ready with the aforementioned documents.

Hope it will help.
