Okay, well recently I received a CSQ ( Certicat de selection du quebec ) which means in english, its a certificate of selection from quebec. It says that the request to sponsor my wife is granted, and everything is fine. But somewhere in the letter is says that this letter and the CSQ doesn't mean that my wife gets the Permanent residence. Then right after saying that it says, upon arriving in quebec as a permanent resident my wife have to ... etc.

Oki, so that means we have to wait for my wife to gain her permanent residence to actually come to quebec? Or she can come now? I'm really confused in that letter, because it seems like we can actually come right now, then theres what i just said about permanent residence.... anyone can help ? thanks in advance.

Hello,

Your wife still needs to get her Permanent resident approval to come to Canada. She cannot enter just with the Quebec selection certificate.
You must send her a photocopy for her to take with her to the embassy when she goes for her interview and to pick up her Visa. She also will need the photocopy with her when she lands in Canada. When she arrives at the Montreal airport she will go through the Canadian immigration office, as well as the Quebec landing office also. She must have the Quebec selection certificate at that time. She will  need  the original Certificate when she applies for her medical card, SI number ,etc...

Do not send her the original Certificate to her, you must keep it safe in Canada until she arrives. Only send her a photocopy which you can just Email  to her.

Good luck with everything.

The 'original certificate', is that just that "cerificat de selction du quebec" thats signed? It's just that the one they sent me is very unoffical looking, just a normal printed page with my details that is signed and it actually says DUPLICATA on it in the top right under my reference number.

I can't find a "duplicata" anywhere on my CSQ, but I will say that it does look rather "unofficial" to my eyes- more like a regular print out. However, there is an original signature on there (in blue, on mine).  (And for my own benefit, I added a post-it to mine to remind me it is the original, so I didn't accidentally send the original to somewhere, instead of a copy, since it looks so much like a regular copy.)

Hi,
So I have the CSQ form that I received. Its just a simple form that has signature of an officer. There are various fields that filled with proper information. And that's it. Nothing fancy.. Hope this helps.

I'm guessing that mine has duplicata on it due to an address mistake which was made. We moved July 1st and due to the postal strike it got sent to our old address and returned to MICC. So they sent it out again to our new address. It is signed and not a photocopy, so I hope that won't have an affect when I land. I was expecting something a little more official, like an embossed fleur de lis headed paper but whatever. I found MICC very helpful and pleasant overall.
