Hello,

I applied under cec category in Aug 2011 but got the refusal last week.
Reason mentioned in an email is
 - I have not submitted employers up to date letter as my experience letter.
The reason I could not submit employers letter is my employer does not provide any letter for PR.
But I did submit 24 monthly pay stubs as a proof of full time 2years of work.

I would lke to know what options I have after getting trefusal from case officer? Is it advisable to take lawyers help and how much would be typical charge for lawyers' assistance?

Thank you all in advance for inputs.

 @ MGK,

Sorry to hear about your case.

You will waste alot of time & money if you pursue an appeal on your case and that's what lawyers will tell you or the second option is to start a new application all over again. But for this now it is mandatory to provide employer reference letter and there are no exceptions to this rule. Read the new guide. Can't you somehow manage to get a letter from your manager or someone to acknowledge your job duration and time. Because it has to be from a third party which in this case is your employer. Try your best and see what comes up. Because It's not an option anymore and without the reference letter you cannot send a new application otherwise they would simply reject the application again.

Good Luck buddy! I hope things will work out for you!!

You know what, I have heard people contacting Minister KENNEY for their issues regarding the visas and citizenship. Why don't you contact his office and I am sure you will get sincere free help and he might look into your case and do something. Just a thought came across my mind.

Minister @ cic.gc.ca

or
Write to;
The Honourable Jason Kenney, P.C., M.P.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Ottawa, Ontario

Now this may take time.

Did you provide your employer with a list of what CIC needs from them? What reason do give for not providing you with this information? I also wonder, if they won't provide CIC with factual information about your employment, what will they do when you apply for a new job and need a reference? I don't know but I find this troubling.

I agree with Señorita. I would suggest you to give them a list and talk to the HR for this letter. I did the same with my employer.
