Hello all, I am new to this forum and I have run into problem with my CEC application.

I have submitted my CEC application in July and got a file number last month. Today I got an email from the office says that my application is refused because I have only 10months of related work experience instead of the required 12months. I double checked my ROEs, and they clearly shows that I started in March 2010 - March - 2011 which has total of 12months of work experience (I have 2 ROEs because I got transferred to a sister company under the same owner with the same position. There were no time off between the transition.) Moreover, the officer has spelled my company's name wrong. There must be some mistakes made by the officer.

Now my application is refused. I am really worried now what can I do?

Please advice.

Did you start working while you were still on an off-campus permit and later you got your post-grad permit?  I am thinking that could be an explanation as time on an off campus permit does not count.

Did you count in vacation/sick days? For them you have to have worked a total of 1950 hours.

I was on 3yrs post grad work permit when I was working.

I haven't taken any sick day nor vacation during the 1 year of work, and I have over 2000 hours of work within that year so it should be more than enough.

I am thinking to file a reconsideration letter but what info should I include in letter?

Someone told me if I get a consultant to represent me, there's a higher chance they will reopen the file, is that true?

If you were not on an off-campus permit for the first 2 months of your employment, write a letter asking if this refusal is a mistake and fax it to them along with the refusal letter and your 2 ROEs
