When i land, i plan to have a cashiers check of my money with me, which will be over 10,000 USD and I will have to decalre it on an extra form when I do Land.

Question: Should this check be already converted to Canadian money (CAD) or can it be in US money (USD) for me to convert it later when I establish a new account in Canada?

I think it can be either one, the only thing is when you open the Bank Account they'll hold your cashier check for a month, you know security thing, so if you need the money you'll have to wait, check with the bank.

it doesn't matter what currency - they will convert it into Canadian money on customs any way during declaration
