Hello there, I'm new to the forum and have had my application in for around three months now plus 1 month for the approval (outland spousal). I heard that CAS is updated weekly on a Tuesday?? Does anyone has any idea if its just updated at some random point in the day or if there is a specific time it happens (if I knew it might save me checking a thousand times every Tuesday and being very dissapointed!)
Thanks

From my experience, any updates are actually more likely to come on mondays - usually monday morning Canada time.

What visa office are you going through? Some seem more diligent with updating ecas than others.

I'm going through the London office.  My husband (canadian born) is sponsoring me whilst I'm here in the UK.  He was approved in February, well under a month after submitting the application and my part of application began processing at the London office 2nd March 09.  I know three months is nothing compared to the times I have seen others waiting here but it is so frustrating as I've barely heard a thing!  No letter to acknowledge my application, only the return of my 'personal items' around 8 weeks ago. I'm beginning to think something is wrong.

our background (in brief) - met in Brighton UK September 06 (husband to be was here on a working holiday).  He left June 07, missed one another so I visited Canada for one month in August 07.  Still missed one another (!) so on my return to UK I applied for a 1 year working holiday visa which was approved.  I left Uk Jan 08, during this time he proposed and we married oct 08.  I left Canada Jan 09 (due to my visa ending and information that it would be quicker to apply outland) and started the app for spousal sponsorship that same month.

I am a little worried after reading posts in this forum that we never informed immigartion of our plans to marry before the wedding in that the first they would have known of it would be when we submitted the app on my return to the UK.  Does anyone see this as a possible issue?

No, I don't think it should be an issue. It can be an issue if one has a common-law partner and fails to mention that on a visa application, but you weren't common-law partners at the time, so that doesn't apply.
It could also be an issue if you hadn't left Canada when your visa expired, but you had, so no issues there either.

More often than not, London doesn't send AOR letters, so that's normal.
And normally when they return things like pictures, it means they don't need them anymore. So that could mean they've already established you have a genuine relationship and your processes is nearing the end. I'm going to guess you're still going through the background check.
Did you get the "medical results received" message on ecas yet? London seems to get that quite early on in the process.

Well, it's all just a guess. Hope you get your visa soon, I know it's tough being apart.

Thanks so much for your reply.  Unfortunately all CAS has said for the past 3 months is 'in process' and 'we stared processing XXX's application on 2nd March 2009. No news of medical received.  I actually did the medical whilst in Canada before leaving so maybe this has affected it in some way.  I believe the doctor there would have posted it to Mississauga.

No, all medical exam results from exams done in Canada go to Ottawa.
This could cause a delay if it wasn't clearly marked somewhere that you did the medical exam in Canada. It could be that the London office doesn't know where to get the results, normally they request them from the London medical office. In such cases it's good to make a note with the medical form that the results went somewhere else.
But they've managed to figure it out for others, I'm sure they'll figure it out for you as well, if they haven't yet Wink

Thanks for the information. It doesn't help that the longer the wait goes on without hearing anything, the more you keep thinking something has gone wrong. I guess I will just have to be patient!

Hi...I am on a similar timeline.......ecas updated in March through London and heard nothing since, I've not even received the personal items back as you have.  It is difficult as I am away from my wife but I'm hopeful that we are nearing the end.  Good luck!
