Hello,
I just got my car inspected for the RIV and it passed.  I want to register my car in Alberta as soon as possible (we are planning a road trip to the states in a few weeks and would like to have my car registered and my husband insured on my car before we leave) but I am still a little baffled as to what I do now.  Do I need to do an out-of-province inspection as well as the RIV inspection??  In what order do I do this?

I thought someone on here might know.

I'm not sure about the rules in Alberta, maybe an insurance company would know the correct procedure. Here in BC an Out of Province Inspection is also required.

Out of province inspection will be required. If you join AMA you can do almost everything there, I think!! Plus, then you can get roadside assistance if you have any issues. Its been very helpful for me!

You will have to see a mechanic for the actual inspection, I think it is around $100 average.
