I am in process to import my car from USA to Canada, its Toyota Camry 2002.

as per guidelines, it must have "At federal inspection, the RIV will verify that vehicle is equipped with daytime running lamps that cannot be turned off while the vehicle is in motion ..........."

does anyone has experience with applying above modification?

Hi

Can you please comment on following;

USA
===
I have sent e-mail to USA authorities & got confirmation e-mail, which suggests that I am good after 72 hours to take my car to their office.
(with all documents mentioned).

From Export (from USA) point of view - is anything else needed?

Canada
======
I did my landing in my own car and came back to USA in 3-4 days. I was issued form 1, yesterday I paid fee at RIV.com, got receipt of payment. (might be complicated, as I will take my car again to Canada border, not sure what will happen)
I have got printed RIV form which is valid till 6th Jan 2012.

From import (in Canada) point of view - I need to go to RIV, emission check, registration offices.
Is anything else needed.

I messed up when I landed by my car, may get penalty on re-entering with my car, although I am not sure what would happen? But it was un-intentional.

1)The answer is in your question i.e (with all documents mentioned)plus fax confirmation.

2)I already supplied you a contact number in one of your thread to contact them and get the info

Hi

Most take the car to Canadian Tire to have the DRL activated.

I heard the  2012 Grand Caravan (in US) does not have an option to activate the DRL . The Dodge dealer tried his level best and sad the option to access DRL no longer exists .. anyone tried this with 2011 or 2012 Dodge Caravan (US version) ?

Called Tran Canada and both of us were reading the documents wrong. None of the Chrysler Products for 2012 is eligible to be moved to Canada , saved by a few minutes from making an expensive mistake. The DRL has been made inaccessible (except in fleet) , also found out US warranty do not apply in Canada except probably for Toyota , Audi & Volvo (am still not sure). Guess having a Canadian head the Chrysler is helping us all out ;-)
