Do you know exactly when the new Occupation List is changing effectively this year?

The cap will reset on 1 July 2011, but no one knows if/when they will announce what the rules and regulations will be for the next year.  Stay tuned.

The current cap expires on 30th July 2011 - so the new fiscal year starts on 1st July 2011. However, we do not know at this stage if the in-demand occupation list will change, and what the cap per NOC or total cap will be.

Nothing could change, or everything could change!

The only changes which look fairly certain are that there will be modifications to the points matrix to increase the amount of points you can get from language and age bracket (favouring younger applications) and decrease the number of points you get from work experience.

I am not expecting any actual announcements until 1st July 2011, since they probably don't want an influx of applications in June for any NOCs which may be falling off the list.

26 June 2010 was the introduction of the 1000 Cap per NOC system, but at that time they announced that it would reset on 1 July 2011 after that.  Friday, 1 July is Canada Day and a Stat Holiday in Canada, so the first working day will be Monday, 4 July.
